NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONTEST IN THE 2019 BENUE STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

I humbly write to notify you of my intention to contest in the 2019 Benue State Governorship Election. My decision is in furtherance of my craving to contribute to the building of a better society. I am convinced that the office of the Governor is strategic and significant in impacting the larger society.

Having observed the efforts of the various past leaders, their successes, and failures, I am convinced that the office of the Governor requires youthfulness, courage, determination, innovation, discipline, integrity and conviction. I hope to bring these qualities to achieve a greater Benue State.

As you may be aware, it is a great and challenging task, but not too much with the collective efforts of great men and women like you who have desired a better and greater Benue State for an improved standard of living for the present and future generations.

I do understand that no young man of my age has made an attempt to contest for this exalted position since the return of democracy. This has led to a discussion of whether I should start from ‘smaller’ positions like House of Assembly or House of Representatives. The truth is that the present system/traditional political parties will not allow a young person like me to swim through it to the top without obliterating my pro-people ideology. So we have decided to start from the top, hoping that with you by our side, we will win and sanitize the polity from top to bottom with our pro-masses ideology.

Some other persons are of the opinion that I have a brighter future in Academics and I can become a Professor at a young age. Attaining the rank of a Professor is the dream of every academic but some persons need to pull out and help build the larger society, else we may have a State with Professors in every clan under the control of incompetent and self-seeking individuals.

People are also concerned about our ‘financial war chest’. They feel that we don’t have enough money to vie for the position of Governor. It is true that politics involves money, but ours is a people’s movement, funded by freewill donation by the masses. Whereas most of the contenders are using looted funds in their attempt to buy the people, we have continued to receive the support of the people through their widow’s mite. It is important to note that in this challenging walk to liberation, only the people and God the Father are my Godfathers.

I, therefore, invite you to join me, mindful that working shoulder to shoulder and believing that a greater Benue is possible, we will defeat any challenge ahead and install the Benue of our dream.

I am pleased to also inform you that I will be contesting on the platform of the National Conscience Party – NCP. The National Conscience Party was founded by the late social justice crusader, Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN). The party is a Socialist party which focuses on implementing pro-people programmes geared towards the economic emancipation of the masses and abolition of poverty. NCP is a deep source of inspiration and provider of equal opportunity in accordance with the philosophy of its founders. I am convinced that the NCP has better promise for our State.

In the days ahead, I hope to meet physically with you to share other details of my intention and my plans and to listen to you on how we can carry out the task ahead. While we are yet to meet, I am willing and available for a conversation through:
